LARP CLOTHING CARE & MAINTENANCE

Epic Armoury's highest priority is to depict the aesthetics and the look of the people and races in our Epic Circle and to capture and recreate the spirit and feel of that specific time or fantasy realm. When buying our LARP clothing, you are buying quality costuming made mainly from natural fibres, with support from man-made materials.

Note: Maintenance is required to obtain your right to claim our two 2-Year Warranty!

Washing Instructions:

Upon receiving your clothing, we recommend that you wash each article separately in cold water using a handful of salt to help seize the colour in the fabric and prevent bleed. The salt will help reduce fading. Also always turn the garment inside out to protect the outer side when washing your clothes.

Regular wash in cold water (80°F) to avoid shrinkage and colour bleed and wash on minimal agitation when possible to prevent tearing of the fibres. The warmer the water, the greater the colour bleed and shrinkage. When drying on a clothesline outside, keep the clothes turned inside out. This will prevent the sun from fading the colours on the fabric.

Shake your garments after removal from the washing machine to minimize wrinkles, then reshape them on a drying rack or hang dry.

Caution:

Never place your Epic Armoury LARP clothing in the dryer, or else they will only fit a gnome!

METAL ARMOR CARE & MAINTENANCE

Please do not leave your armor lying in the grass after removing it. The acid and humidity from the grass tend to accelerate the rust giving it a permanent stain that only buffing with compound and paste can remove.

When you have finished LARPing, remove your armor and let it dry in the sun as you tear down your camp. The sun's ultraviolet radiation and increased water temperatures work together to kill harmful bacteria in the water.

For leather parts, a wax or silicone spray may be applied periodically to ensure its durability (In some cases, mink oil can be used). CAUTION: Wet leather will rust the exposed parts of metal on the armor.

Storage & Maintenance

Step One:

Clean the entire surface first using brake cleaner! The cleaner will ensure there is no humidity on the surface, and it will also remove dirt and other impurities on the surface of the metal. Don't be shy, spray a liberal amount on the surface then wipe it off with a clean, dry cloth. This stuff dries in seconds and has a nasty smell, but it works great to prep the surface.

Step Two:

Spray a liberal amount of WD-40 onto the surface of the metal then rub using the steel wool in a circular pattern to remove the surface Rust. Repeat as many times as necessary, then remove excess using a dry cloth.

Storing in a clean, dry place is very important. So if you place it in a plastic container in the basement, make sure it is off the floor and in a heated or dry room. You can add a silica gel pack to help absorb excess amounts of humidity and to ensure the armor does not rust.

Requirements:
- Automotive Brake Cleaner
